For most information about me, see my CV, but for the specifics not included there, here is some more about me.I am Mark Ian Winter, son of Marilyn Ann and James Ian, and I was born at 3:47am on 18th March 1978 at Nether Edge Hospital in Sheffield, weighing 3kg 350g. I have one brother, Stephen Gary, born on 26th March 1973, who now lives in Oxford with his girlfriend, Kelly. I currently live at home with my parents whilst studying for my degree at Sheffield Hallam University. My mother works as a Practice Nurse at Sheffield Hallam University, my father is Technical Manager for Dyson Refractories and my brother a Research Scientist for Medisense UK. My girlfriend is Sam and she currently works in sales for R.A. Roberts (Office Equipment). I love football and am an Owl (Sheffield Wednesday) supporter. I am very much into dance music, and I mix, and although I have never properly DJ'd in a club, I have provided at private functions for close friends and family, and worked as an assistant DJ in a bar In Sheffield city centre. I was once offered the chance to DJ the opening night of a new club in Nottingham on New Year's Eve of 1997, but, regrettably, I just missed out on it. Currently, I am pitching ideas to my Student Union, which has it's own nightclub, about a night I would be interested in both arranging and DJ'ing, so I will have to wait and see if anything comes about from that.Although my degree is a Bsc (Hons) Hotel and Tourism Management, along the way I have decided that I would rather follow my main interest, music. That is not to say, however, that I am willing to throw away everything I have learned so far. Instead, my realistic aim is to combine the two and begin a career in nightclub, bar or entertainment venue management. My dream would be to go to an eastern country that hasn't yet discovered the joys of dance music on a large scale, (for example Tunisia) and be the first to set the wheels (of steel) in motion there. Ideally, with a lottery win, I would be able to build my own pre-bar and club, but a problem might be that I'd probably want to manage and DJ them simultaneously! © Mark Winter, 1999. |
